Energen Awards Employee Grants - December 2007


Energen recently awarded grants to twelve employees through the company's Volunteer Investment Program (VIP), which began in October 1997 as an extension of Energen's corporate contribution efforts.

The program's purpose is to contribute to the community by providing limited financial support to the non-profit organizations to which Energen and subsidiary employees volunteer their time.

Employees and organizations receiving the grant are:

Tina Bundy, Alagasco senior customer service representative - Tuscaloosa, received a $500 grant to help pay for uniforms for the Northport Girls Fast Pitch Softball League. 

Emily Counts, Energen Resources accounts payable clerk - General Office, received a $500 grant to purchase shirts for Girl Scout Cahaba Council Troop 100. 

Jo Davis, Alagasco buyer - General Office, received a $500 grant to purchase a break away sign for the cheerleaders at Coosa Valley Academy. 

Jimmy Dozier, Energen Resources field operator - Brookwood, received a $500 grant to sponsor the cost of a child to attend a week of camp at Camp Smile-A-Mile. 

Bobby Harris, Alagasco meter reader - Montgomery, received a $500 grant to purchase uniforms and equipment for Brewbaker Technology Boys Basketball.

Paige Hicks, Energen Resources lead revenue assistant - General Office, received a $500 grant to purchase balls and bats for the Ragland High School Baseball team. 

Nathaniel Holloman, Alagasco construction journeyman apprentice -Birmingham, received a $500 grant to purchase football training equipment for the East Lake Youth Association.

Juanita Neville, Alagasco senior programmer support analyst - General Office, received a $500 grant to purchase sports equipment for the Hoover High School Soccer Booster Club.

Maggie Priola, Energen leadership development representative - General Office, received a $500 grant to purchase supplies for the Birmingham Exchange Club’s Santa Sunshine Special project. 

Lamar Smith, Alagasco director of economic and new business development - General Office, received a $500 grant to purchase supplies to help with restoration efforts for the Friends of Rickwood Field.  

Jacquelyn Watkins, Alagasco operations supervisor - Montgomery, received a $500 grant to purchase uniforms for team members for the Davis Elementary School Booster Club.

Grants are awarded to employees who volunteer at least 40 hours a year to eligible organizations. Eligible organizations include schools, charitable, non-profit or community organizations that provide a public service.
